Professional Teeth Whitening in Gymea

Shop-bought whitening strips can only use weak bleaching agents. Professional whitening is stronger, faster and safer, because a dentist checks your teeth first and protects your gums during treatment.

At Comfort Dental Gymea, we offer ZOOM in-chair whitening, one of the most widely used professional systems. Treatment takes about 75 minutes.

How ZOOM whitening works

  1. Consultation and check. We confirm whitening suits you. Decay, gum problems or exposed roots should be treated first.

  2. Shade record. We note your starting shade so you can see the change.

  3. Gum protection. A barrier covers your gums and lips.

  4. Whitening. The ZOOM gel is applied and activated with a special light, in several short cycles.

  5. Aftercare. We give you tips for the next 48 hours, when teeth stain most easily.

What about sensitivity?

Some people feel temporary sensitivity during or after whitening. We use a protocol designed to reduce it, including desensitising treatment before and after your session. Let us know if you've had sensitive teeth before.

Will whitening work for me?

Whitening works best on yellow or brown staining from coffee, tea, wine or age. It doesn't change the colour of crowns, veneers or fillings. Grey staining, such as from some antibiotics, may respond less. If whitening isn't right for you, we'll talk you through other options such as edge bonding or veneers.
